LCA The Vince By Black Bird Cigars Aged 1 Year Happy Smoking

This Listing Is For One Aged Cigar

The April LCA release is called The Vince by Blackbird Cigars. This cigar is part of a three part series with Blackbird Cigars inspired by Martin Scorsese’s The Color of Money. Over a year ago, Privada Cigar Club featured a box pressed robusto called “The Fast Eddie,” named for Paul Newman’s character in the movie. The Vince is named for Tom Cruise’s character in the film. Tasting Notes: The body is pungent with dried peach or apricot and strong saddle leather. The pigtail foot shows the same. The cold draw reminds me of raspberry Snapple. Black coffee, dark roast, black pepper, fresh-cut cedar, faint berry, like what you get when smelling certain coffee beans and powdery salty smoke start this baby out right! Further in vanilla, roasted black coffee, faint berry, blueberry, cedar, black pepper, leather, and powdery smoke satiate the palate. In the second third, I get vanilla, leather, black coffee, cedar, black pepper, salted peanuts, and charcoal. Blueberry comes and goes now, but it’s black coffee all the way. I also get some phantom flavors of popcorn. Then more salted peanuts. The retro is black pepper and I get buttery flavoring once in a while. In the final third, I get dark bread, salt, and the berries turn lightly floral. Now I’m getting peanuts, and the smoke is creamier but still black coffee and black pepper and the finish has hints of vanilla. In the end, I get herbs like rosemary and dark breads with cedar, floral, charcoal, leather, and dried lavender.

Pairing Notes: Cafe latte. Cinnamon latte. Chocolate mousse. Nutella. Chocolate cupcakes with cream inside. Porter or stout beer. Red wines. Steak. Milk chocolate.
